Ian Reid Scholarship Launch

Please join us on Thursday, February 29th in Victoria at the BC Legislature for a cocktail reception at 5pm to celebrate the launch of the Ian Reid Scholarship. Doors close at 5:30pm!

Ian Reid spent his political career supporting and advising social democratic leaders and governments. This scholarship will be awarded annually to students committed to furthering the work, values and goals of social democracy. It celebrates the contribution of people who spend their careers behind the scenes, as strategists, opinion researchers, organizers, policy makers and communicators. It also recognizes the role of 2SLGBTQ+ people in the social democratic movement and it encourages greater diversity around the decision-making table. All students working for equality, inclusion and social democracy are encouraged to apply.

Recently established by the Douglas Layton Coldwell Foundation, through a partnership with The NOW Group together with Ian Reid's husband Paul Degenstein, this scholarship honours and celebrates Ian's life long commitment to social justice and equality.
