A goal of the Douglas Coldwell Layton Foundation for Social Democracy is to inspire a new generation of progressive Canadians about the legacies of our founders and the history of social democracy in Canada. The DCL Lecture Series taking place in 6 major universities across Canada features exciting leaders in Canadian social democratic thought and organizing. These lecture events are open to students, university staff and faculty, DCLF members and supporters, and invited guests.
Each lecture and reception event will be co-hosted by a university and feature guest speakers from across the country and around the world to talk on the theme of social democracy and its relevance for today - specific topics will vary at each event.
We are thrilled to have established an annual nationwide lecture series that focuses on advancing social democracy today. We need thought provoking discussions and fresh ideas that prioritize the majority of people's needs rather than the elite and well connected. Please join us for these exciting events.
