Our electoral system currently allows for “false majorities,” where governments gain sweeping power without true majority support. This often silences diverse voices and risks policies that don’t serve all Canadians. We urgently need mixed member proportional representation to create a fairer, more representative system that prevents unchecked power and ensures that every Canadian’s voice is heard.
