Broadbent Institute

The Broadbent Institute is an independent, non-partisan organization championing progressive change through the promotion of democracy, equality, and sustainability and the training of a new generation of leaders.

At the January 2012 meeting of its Board of Directors, the Douglas-Coldwell Foundation decided to provide major support to the emerging 'Equality Project', sponsored by the Broadbent Institute and involving associates from several NGO's and academic bases. The Equality Project intends to reach across partisan and philosophical divides to highlight the empirical and social impacts of income inequality in Canada, and to generate debate about possible responses. The Project has already sponsored national polling research, a day-long thinkers’ workshop, and newspaper op-ed pieces.
