Austerity is not a path to prosperity. It slows growth, weakens resilience, deepens inequality, and leaves people behind. It did not work under Reagan and Thatcher, and it will not work now. The evidence is clear: societies become stronger and more competitive when we invest in people, not when we weaken the very public institutions that hold our country together.
Public services are not “expenses” to manage down. They are investments in shared security, dignity, and opportunity. They are how we build a stable, hopeful, and prosperous future—and how we protect our democracy and economy from global uncertainty.

Instead of making cuts, I urge you to:

Protect and strengthen public services

	- Invest in health care, housing, climate resilience, education, and public infrastructure
	- Support workers and communities
	- Reject policies that concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few
	- Ensure public dollars serve the public good—not corporate profits
	- Increase taxes on profitable billion dollar corporations
	- Close tax loopholes for the ultra wealthy and penalize tax dodgers.

Canada’s future is worth funding.

The people of this country deserve a government that understands that prosperity comes from lifting people up, not from withdrawing support when times are hard.
